French onion soup - recipe (including photos)

Ingredients:
  • 450 ml of chicken soup
  • 2-3 big onions
  • 3 spoons of butter
  • 3 spoons of olive oil
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • salt
  • thyme
  • laurel
  • pepper
  • cheese


Cut the onion and the garlic.


Add the onion and the garlic over a mix of olive oil and butter and let them cook for 10 - 15 minutes at slow fire.


Add the chicken soup, the thyme, the laurel, salt and pepper and let them boil 15-20 minutes.


Pour the soup in a ceramic bowl and lay on top the toasted bread and some cheese. Put it in the oven until the cheese is melted.
