2011 music festival (Fete de la Musique) in Luxembourg

Today is the last day of Fete de la Musique, so the city center will be full of concerts until well into the night.

    I don't ever remember hearing about this festivla during my two years in Luxembourgh. Is this something new?

    Apparently it started soem 30 years ago in France at the initiative of the French minister of culture and then it gradually taken proportions and now it is celebrated in over 100 countries on the same day: http://www.fetedelamusique.culture.fr/fr/la-fete-de-la-musique/esprit-de-la-fete/
