Torte Egyptian - recipe (including photos)

Apparently this is not an Egyptian cake, only the name is :)

First of all: your cake will have three layers and immediately below are the ingredients for only ONE LAYER:
  • 2 egg whites
  • 2 spoons with sugar
  • 2 teaspoons with flour
  • 40 grams of ground walnuts

Beat the egg whites with the sugar.

Add the flour and mix slowly.

Add the walnuts and mix.

On a greased round form (20 cm diameter) add the composition and put it in the oven at 180 Celsius degrees for 15-20 minutes or until golden.

Repeat the above for another two times, so that you will have three identical layers.

Ingredients for the yellow filling:
  • 350 milliliters of milk
  • 180 grams of butter
  • 6 egg yolks
  • 6 spoons with sugar
  • 2 spoons with flour

Mix the egg yolks with the sugar for a few minutes.

Add the flour and mix gently.
Add the milk and mix. Put the pan on the fire and keep steering until is tick like a pudding.
Let it cool!

Beat the butter and incorporate it in the egg composition.

Ingredients for the second filing:
  • 250 grams of fresh cream
  • 130 grams of sugar
  • 120 grams of ground walnuts

Melt the sugar and pour it on a baking paper. Let it cool!

Separate the sugar from the paper and crush the dried sugar in small pieces.

Beat the fresh cream for a few minutes and slowly add the walnuts and the crushed sugar.

Assembling the cake is easy:

First you put a layer on a big plate.

Then add the yellow filling and then the second filling.

Continue like this until you finish the last layer.

Above you can add some cream.

Enjoy!

Enjoy!
