Chocolate apple cake - recipe (including photos)

We thought that it´s a good combination. And it was :). From the ingredients bellow you will have a small cake .

Ingredients for the dough (18 cm diameter):
  • 100 grams of flour
  • 80 grams of dark chocolate
  • 80 grams of butter
  • 80 grams of sugar
  • 30 grams of fresh cream
  • 30 grams of crushed walnuts
  • 20 grams of cocoa powder
  • 2 spoons with warm water
  • 1 teaspoon with baking powder
  • 1 egg

Ingredients for the chocolate filling:
  • 200 grams of fresh cream
  • 100 grams of chocolate
  • 30 grams of butter
  • 2 spoons with honey
  • 2 spoons with sugar
  • 2 spoons with Sheridan´s coffee liqueur

Ingredients for the apple filling:
  • 300 grams of chopped apples
  • 100 grams of sugar
  • 2 spoons with water




Prepare the dough:

In a pan melt the butter and the chocolate together.



Meanwhile beat the egg with the fresh cream.


Separately mix the flour with the cocoa powder, the sugar, the baking powder and the crushed walnuts.


Mix the dry ingredients above with the egg/fresh cream composition and the water and mix.


Add the melted cooled chocolate / butter and mix.


Put the composition in a baking pan and put it in the oven at 180 Celsius degrees for 25-30 minutes or until ready.


Let it cool then divide it in 3 layers.


Prepare the chocolate filling:
Melt the chocolate together with the butter and the honey.
Let it cool!


Beat the fresh cream with the sugar and mix it with the cooled melted chocolate and the Sheridan liqueur.

Put it in the fridge while you prepare the rest of the cake.



Prepare the apple filling:

Mix the sugar with the water and let it caramelize.

Add the chopped apples and keep them on the fire for a few minutes until soft.
Let it cool!


Assembling the cake:

Put one layer of dough on a plate, then add the apple filling, then another layer, then half of the chocolate filling and finish with the last layer everything covered in the remaining chocolate filling.
