Aligot reinterpreted - recipe (including photos)

Ingredients:
  • 600 grams potatoes
  • 400 grams cheddar cheese
  • 150 grams of fresh cream
  • 50 grams of butter
  • garlic
  • pepper
  • salt
Optional you may need 2 eggs and a few slices of prosciutto.

Clean the potatoes and boil them.
Mash them and while still hot add the butter and mix.

Add the fresh cream and mix.

Put the pot on slow fire and add the cheese little by little, mixing continuously.

Add the garlic, the pepper and the salt and the aligot is ready.

In our version, we continued a bit the process.
Grease a pan with some butter and add the aligot.

Beat 2 eggs and add them on top.
Let it cook at 150 degrees Celsius for 20 minutes or until the eggs are done.

While still hot add the bacon or the prosciutto and cover the pot for a few minutes.
Enjoy!
