Japanese-Style Pancakes

Ingredients for 3 people:
  • 250 grams of buttermilk
  • 200 grams of flour
  • 50 grams of sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • half of a teaspoon with baking powder
  • a bit of vanilla sugar
  • a bit of salt
  • sunflower oil for brushing

Mix the  buttermilk with the eggs, the sugar and the vanilla sugar.

Separately mix the flour with the baking powder and the salt and then add it over the buttermilk / eggs mixture.

Mix well and then let it rest for half of an hour in the fridge.

Grease a pan and let it heat at slow fire. With a pastry brush, brush the inside of a small pastry metal mould with some sunflower oil. Let it heat in the pan.

Fill only half of the mold , because the composition will rise in the process.

Cook for a few minutes on each side, at slow fire. Be patient because the process will take some time.

At the end the pancakes will be more sweet then the well known American pancakes, so you can eat them with a bit of butter, fresh fruits or maple syrup.

 Enjoy!
