Hotel review ,Gresham Carat Hotel - Hamburg

We were extremely disappointed by this hotel. It isn't worth it the 4 star classification.

First of all, the hotel is situated 5 km away from city center. There's no way of walking there.

The room was clean, but the furniture and the tiles and fittings in the bathroom were old.

Even worse, the bath consumables were not changed daily.

The breakfast was of poor quality products and with limited choice (for a 4 star hotel). The breakfast room is very small compared to the number of rooms in the hotel (if you wake up around 9, it's difficult to find an available table).

Trip to Hamburg, Germany - part 4

Don't take our word for it: we have friends who liked Hamburg for its new architecture, for the vibrant (night)life. Our opinion is just a point of view.

Trip to Hamburg, Germany - part 3

In Hamburg there is not much to see, if you like old towns and wooden houses, because here the majority of the buildings are relatively new.

Even worse, as every big city, it is quite dirty and impersonal.

Trip to Hamburg, Germany - part 2

We love old cities, so we were a little bit disappointed of Hamburg, which looks like it's still under reconstruction, with the numerous cranes dominating the skyline of the city)

Trip to Hamburg, Germany - part 1

Hamburg's official name is the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, as a reference to Hamburg's history when it was a member of the medieval Hanseatic League.

Actually, you would see that all the Hanseatic cities have the licence plates of their cars starting with a H (HH for Hamburg, HWI for Wismar, etc)
