There were lots of foreign tourists that made us think that probably flights are cheaper to this part of Europe. If that's true, don´t miss the opportunity for a week-end of fun in Riga.

Riga, an amazing city to have fun.

Eating out - Pelmeni XL, Riga, Latvia

While in Riga we tried something more ... local.

It was a very nice experience, at a really small price. They are basically some tortellini like pasta, boiled or fried, to be served with various sauces.

Trip to Jelgava Palace, Latvia

A sad image. From far, the castle looks nice, but if you get close you´ll see a castle in ruin surrounded by a poorly maintained park.

Trip to Cesis, Latvia

Nothing to see, except for what's in the photos below, so go on with your journey.

This confirms that in the Baltic countries it's better to just stick to the capitals.

Hotel review - Radisson Blu Ridzene Hotel, Riga, Latvia

The room was large and nice. The staff was helpful. Private paid parking and free wi-fi.

The breakfast was decent although the omelet had a shady texture, as if there were no eggs in it.

The hotel it is at a few minutes walk from the old center.
