The world of stupid strikes back ... with the iPad

You have probably already seen tourists taking photos with their iPads.

If not, here's some of them:

Stupid advertisers in Vannes, France

The photo below is an counter-example of smart advertising.

You have a well-preserved medieval castle, one of the charms of the city, and you ruin it with a huge poster showing the behind of a 60 year old woman bathing in the sea.

WTF? The search for unexpected and sensational has went too far. Too much is too much. Don't you think?

The no-brainer of the day (II)

The common sense would indicate that in order to get into the elevator, one must first allow the exit of those already inside.

One wouldn't need a college degree for that.

However, almost every time we take the elevator that connects the Grund with the old city center (Ville haute) there are people standing exactly in front of the elevator doors.

Even worse, they see that the elevator is full and people should come out, but still do not move out of the way.

Worse than sheep...

The no-brainer of the day (I)

You're waiting for the bus, along with several other unfortunate people who do not drive to whatever their business is.

You're waiting for more than 5 minutes,  with your subscription handy, just in case the driver might ask for it.

Understandably, not all have subscriptions. Some have to buy a ticket from the driver.

The decent thing would be if these passengers would have the cash readily available, so that the purchase can take place swiftly, and the bus continues its way.

However, there are some people for which this no-brainer seems to be too complicated to grasp. So they keep the bus in the station and delay all the other passengers, while they lose 2 minutes to start looking for money: first in the pockets, then in the bag, looking for the wallet, then in the wallet, looking for coins or small banknotes...

WTF, wake up people: it's not your private bus.

Stupid slogan seen in the Luxembourg office window of an IT firm

Aubay - ahead of innovation

Have you heard about this company and its slogan before?
Well, the reason you didn't it's because this firm is so ahead of innovation, that it's practically living in a parallel universe.

Forget Apple, Google, Toyota, Microsoft, IBM, or any other of the top 50 most innovative companies, as ranked by BusinessWeek and Boston Consulting Group.

Aubay is ahead of innovation - too bad people do not recognise their merits ... whatever these may be (if any)

Galerie Simoncini does it again

We follow-up our previous post related to the so-called art exposed at the Galerie Simoncini, with yet another sample of stupidity exposed.

This time, to make the argument more compelling, we will present comparatively the "works" of a reputable artist and those of some primary school kids, which are currently being exhibited in the passage that leads to the lift which connects the Grund with the Luxembourg City center:

                Artist                                                                                             Kids

Just in case you got forgot, artist on the left, kids on the right.

Stupid commercial on Ara City Radio

In the morning, driving to the office, I like to tune in to Ara City Radio. I like the morning show presented by a girl named Phoebe, cause she's pretty funny and energetic and wakes me up.

However, what I dislike on this radio  is a stupid commercial for a domiciliary / accounting / tax advisory small company, about which few people have ever heard of.

Anyway, the commercial starts like this "Remember me, I'm Carl .........borough, who brought you the tax tips." And continues saying to call him if I want a copy of these tax tips or to discuss tax planning issues.

First of all, these kind of people that put themselves above the products they sell are really annoying. The idea was to promote the services of your company, not to hear your name on the radio.

Anyway, who do you think remembers such a typical British complicated name? At least you could have asked someone with a really easy name to be remembered to present the company and its services.

No, I do not remember you, I have never heard about you and I do not want to hear about your good for nothing tax tips.

If I want some tax tips, I go to the sites of the BIG 4s in Luxembourg and I take all the tax tips you have never even thought about. And I can find these in a downloadable PDF free version, as opposed to your cheap website.

I will not give the name of this company, as I do not want them to get them traffic for nothing, as it is really not worth it.

For the really interested people, tune in to Radio Ara and you will hear it - and then regret that you've done it .....

Stupid people

In the parking lot of Auchan we had the pleasure to enjoy a scene similar to the bloopers with stupid people you can see on TV.

A young couple in their late 20s were trying to stuff their 2 kids in the back of a 2 door Suzuki Swift! At the same time, I was feeling sorry for the 2 cars parked next to them, which had their paint being scratched by the doors opened wide by these stupid people.

How stupid do you have to be to buy a small car as a family car and, even worse, a 2 door car.

One could argue that the guys did not have the money to buy a big family car, but there are several options on the market. Take Dacia Logan for example, where for half of the money spent they could have had the space to take the kids' granny along. And one could not argue that they preferred a quality car instead of a cheap one, as Suzuki is very far away from being the top of its class.

With the savings made by buying a Logan, they could have set up a savings account to cover the kids' higher education, to give them a chance to get smarter than their parents...

What the f... do we/you know about art

Today we were passing by Galerie Simoncini and we were amazed by what some people think it's art these days:

If one can call art some stones on a pedestal and some stains of black ink ...
