Potato bread - recipe (including photos)

Ingredients:
  • 500 grams of potatoes
  • 500 grams of flour
  • 80 milliliters of warm water (preferably the water in which the potatoes boiled)
  • 10 grams of fresh yeast
  • 1 tea spoon of salt
  • 1 spoon of brown sugar
  • 3 spoons of olive oil

Boil the potatoes with some salt.

Mash them...

Mix the fresh yeast with the sugar until liquid.

Add a teaspoon of flour and let it rest for a few minutes.

Add the warm water over the yeast and mix.

Add the flour over the mashed potatoes and mix.

On top of the potatoes add the olive oil, the salt and the yeast mixture and mix until well incorporated.

Let the dough rest for one hour in a warm place.

Then put the dough in the baking tray and let it rest another half an hour before starting the fire.

Put it in the oven at 190 degrees Celsius for about 45 minutes.

The original recipe can be found here

I love potato bread and it is so easy to make. I sent this to my daughter who is living in your city, studying law.
I was trying to track down a manual for her Ignis AKS140 oven because she has none and doesn't understand how to operate it. Somehow I got to this Blog and read your description of the history of the Ig nis Oven. I still have no manual, but she has a new recipe.

Hello

Try these links for a user manual:

http://www.lancs.ac.uk/facilities/services/ApplianceInstructions/Ovens/Ignis2.pdf

https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B3kCXbLcleMZMVBGNjZrMldUY1k/edit

The first link in the English manual of a different Ignis model and the second link is the German manual of your model.

Using the two you should be able to make it work (the two models seem very similar)

Regards
