Riviera dei Fiori - Bussana Vecchia

Bussana Vecchia is an old village that had been hit by an earthquake towards the end of the XIX century.

The survivors have fled the village and it remained deserted until the 1950s, when it became mainly inhabited by artists.







Italian version of petanque

In Diano Marina where we were accomodated, we've noticed senior citizens playing an Italian version of the petanque. The major difference noted was that they played with rubber/plastic balls instead of heavy iron ones:


Riviera dei Fiori - Dolceaqua

In Dolceaqua we were amazed by how crowded the houses are and how little natural light they get. Otherwise, the village is full of artist (painters) studios.








Riviera dei Fiori - Castellaro

You will see in pictures that there is nothing special about Castellaro, only maybe the road until there, which is very tight and abrupt.

We have just come back from a 1 week holiday on the Italian and French rivieras.

It was our best vacation so far - we are looking forward to returning as soon as possible.

We visited a lot of places and we start with a small medieval village: Cervo
