Eating out - Brasserie du Curé, Luxembourg Ville

The restaurant is right in the city center, near Place d'Armes.

Overall, the food seemed OK, although we have some doubts on the freshness of the sauce, as we the both of us had stomach aches after leaving the restaurant.

Zweibrucken The Style Outlets - winter sales

A few years ago we discovered the outlet in ZweibrĂ¼cken, Germany (about 130 kilometers south-east of Luxembourg).

Yesterday was the last day of sales and the shopping centre was packed with people.

The prices explain the crowds:

Ceramic flower bells from Villeroy & Boch (paid 2 euros, instead of the 15 euros)

Puma trekking boots (paid 38 euros, instead of 125 euros for the women pair and 34 euros, instead of 115 euros for the men pair)

Camper leather boots (paid 30 euros instead of 140 euros)

...and more

The official website of the Zweibrucken outlet centre is: http://zweibrucken.thestyleoutlets.de/en/

See you there for the summer sales in July-August.

Strudel in Innsbruck, Austria

While in Innsbruck we tried a couple of confectionery stores.

This one below was the worst we encountered. It's in the center, on the street that leads from the Golden Roof to the royal palace.

The strudel wasn't well cooked and the Sacher torte had nothing to do with the original one.

Traditional romanian pie - recipe (including photos)

This is a traditional pie from the region of Moldova named "alivenci".

Ingredients:
  • 500 milliliters of milk
  • 500 grams of yogurt (or fresh cheese)
  • 150 grams of fresh cream
  • 150 grams of corn flour
  • 50 grams of butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 packets of vanilla sugar
  • half of a teaspoon of salt

In a pan put the milk, the salt and the butter and let it boil.

When it started boiling, add the corn flour and mix. Keep it at slow fire until it thickens.

Take it from the fire and let it cool.
While it's still a little bit warm, add the fresh cream, the yoghurt, the egg yolks and the vanilla sugar and mix well.

Separately beat the egg whites and add them over the composition.
Mix slowly and only a few times.

Put the composition in a baking pan and let it in the oven at 180 Celsius degrees for 20 minutes.
Then cover the pan with an aluminum foil and let it bake for another 15 - 20 minutes.

It can be served with fresh cream and if you like sweets you can add some powdered sugar above.
Delicious!

Two cookies in Innsbruck, Austria

The cookies were very good.

The confectionery is right in the centre: as you face the Golden Roof, make a left and walk about 20 meters.

Eating out - Restaurant La Porte du Bengale, Strassen, Luxembourg

The restaurant is not in the city center, but it worth a visit.

The food was good and it is suitable for people not used to Indian food, because this restaurant does not make it very spicy.
