Maasmechelen Village - fashion outlet center

An outlet located close to Maastricht (Netherlands) and Genk (Belgium).

At about 200 km from Luxembourg City.

We went there at the beginning of the January winter sales and even though the sale season had just started, there were some deals to be made (Geox, Desigual, etc.).

Their official website is here.

Zweibrucken The Style Outlets - winter sales

A few years ago we discovered the outlet in Zweibrücken, Germany (about 130 kilometers south-east of Luxembourg).

Yesterday was the last day of sales and the shopping centre was packed with people.

The prices explain the crowds:

Ceramic flower bells from Villeroy & Boch (paid 2 euros, instead of the 15 euros)

Puma trekking boots (paid 38 euros, instead of 125 euros for the women pair and 34 euros, instead of 115 euros for the men pair)

Camper leather boots (paid 30 euros instead of 140 euros)

...and more

The official website of the Zweibrucken outlet centre is: http://zweibrucken.thestyleoutlets.de/en/

See you there for the summer sales in July-August.

The Style Outlets in Zweibrücken, Germany

Recently we've been shopping in the outlet next to Zweibrücken.

There are many stores and some of them do indeed have serious discounts.

So if you are interested to buy something new, try it - Londoner Bogen 10, D-66482 Zweibrucken.

We had problems in finding something decent to eat, because there are only few cafe-restaurants, but owned by the same company. We had an Italian sandwich who had nothing to do with Italy, but the prices are acceptable (less than EUR 4 the sandwich).

At the end of the week it is very crowded, so you have to be patient and to reserve all day for shopping there.

Factory Shopping outlet in Messancy

Update 2014: A while a go we wanted to see if something change...and the things changed indeed. The prices weren´t so high anymore and you could find something ....if you look carefully.

Today we went to IKEA Arlon and, since we were in the neighborhood, we decided to take a detour to Factory Shopping Messancy, to see if something has changed in their pricing policy since the new owner took over.

During the 2 years we have been living here, we've been to this outlet a couple of times and we were always disappointed by the offer and especially the high prices, even during the sales periods.

We lived the same story again today. High prices, low discounts, few people in the stores and even less those actually buying something. This is how depressing the outlet looked around lunch today:

Our advice is to avoid going there, as it would be a waste of time and money.

Try instead the outlet Marques Avenue in Talange, on the highway to Metz, approximately 50 km away from Luxembourg City centre.
