Trip to Hilton Brussels Grand Place, Belgium

The room was nice and clean and the bed comfortable.

Good breakfast and decent food in the lounge area, altough the place is a bit smaller.

Free WIFI and paid covered parking places not far from the hotel.

5 minute walk from the old city center.

Morning traffic jams in Brussels, Belgium

This is how our live traffic GPS shows Brussels roads during the morning of an ordinary working day (roads in red mean traffic jams).

We truly feel sorry for those working in Brussels :(

Maasmechelen Village - fashion outlet center

An outlet located close to Maastricht (Netherlands) and Genk (Belgium).

At about 200 km from Luxembourg City.

We went there at the beginning of the January winter sales and even though the sale season had just started, there were some deals to be made (Geox, Desigual, etc.).

Their official website is here.

Two cookies in Louviere, Belgium

Disastrous  - it's the perfect word to describe this cookies.

And it was the only one open on a Friday evening ... and full of people.

Small town, however one of the most beautiful ones you can find in the Walloon region.

Hotel review - Hôtel La Louve, Louviere, Belgium

In the standard room that we booked there was a heavy sewage smell.

The superior room they gave us after we complained was OK.

The breakfast was poor.

Free internet and free parking places behind the hotel.

Overall, poor value for money for a stay at this hotel (we paid 75 euro per night).

Trip to Bouillon, Belgium

Has a small fortress on top of the hill. Nicely surrounded by the Semois river where one can practice water sports. Really crowded during week-ends, so finding an empty table at a restaurant for lunch is a problem.

A really nice place to spend a Sunday.

1 May, the day of the Lily of the Valley

We noted that in France and Belgium today was the day of the Lily of the Valley ("jour du muguet").

Apparently, people who receive them today will have good luck throughout the year.
