Hotel review - Cavalieri del Tau, Altopascio, Italy

Big room, free wireless internet and free parking.

Decent breakfast for Italian standards.

It is a hotel that doesn't stand out by anything, but it is perfect for a one night rest.

Trip to Altopascio, Tuscany, Italy

Altopascio is perfect for a stop over for a good night's sleep.

The city is very small, quiet with few things to do or see.

Trip to Lucca, Tuscany, Italy - part 2

One of the few Italian cities with intact surrounding defense medieval walls.

It has a special appeal to American and Spanish tourists, at least this was our impression when walking around and hearing the others speak.

Hotel review - Holiday Inn Express, Frankfurt Airport

The room was OK.

Free internet in the lobby and free parking.

The breakfast was disappointing (cheap products and no warm food).

During the breakfast you can see where the waiters clean the food leftovers from the other clients.

Trip to Lucca, Tuscany, Italy - part 1

Very nice city. Pretty crowded in the summer, but if you are in the area, don't miss it.

Potato frittata - recipe (including photos)

Ingredients:
  • 400 grams of potatoes
  • 150 grams of grated cheese
  • 150 grams of chopped bacon
  • 3 spoons of olive oil
  • 1 spoon of fresh cream
  • 3 eggs
  • garlic
  • parsley
  • pepper
  • salt (only if you like extra salted, because usually the bacon is already pretty salted)

Cut the potatoes in small pieces and put them in an oven pot. Add the olive oil and pepper and cover them with an aluminum foil. Put them in the oven for 20 minutes at 170 degrees Celsius.

In a pan fry the bacon.

In a bowl mix the eggs with pepper, fresh cream, parsley, the chopped garlic and the grated cheese.

Add the ham over the potatoes.

Add the composition from eggs/cheese over the potatoes. Cover the pan with the same aluminum foil and put it in the oven for 15 minutes at 170 degrees Celsius .

Remove the aluminum foil and leave in the oven for another 5 minutes so that it can get a golden crust on top.

Enjoy!
