www.luxair.lu flies too high on service fees

Yesterday we purchased airplane tickets to fly from Luxembourg to London with Luxair.

We would have preferred to fly with  British Airways (cheaper rates and safer planes), but due some circumstances our only choice was Luxair.

Anyway, even if we had to fly Luxiar, we did not purchase the ticket from www.luxair.lu, due to their incredible high service fees, when compared to the competition.

Bear with us for a short comparison for service fees:

www.expedia.fr - EUR 0 (yes, zero)

www.lastminute.com - EUR 0 (zero)

www.ebookers.com - EUR 0 (NIL)

To conclude, don't buy directly from Luxair, even if you want to fly with them.
That is if you do not want to throw money out the window.

Top secret hotels on www.lastminute.com

We just made reservations for a week-end in Munich selecting one of the Top Secret Hotels sold by www.lastminute.com (there are also French, German, Italian and Scandinavian versions of the website, so you can choose your preferred language).

Basically, the Top Secret Hotel thing works likes this:

- it is a 4 / 5 star hotel (majority are 4 star hotels)

- the name of the hotel is only disclosed once the payment is made

- however, a description of the location is mentioned, so using our best friend google, one can guess what hotel it could be.

The whole secrecy issue is kept so that the regular price policy of the hotel is not affected.

Tonight, we just reserved 2 nights at Holiday Inn Munich Centre using the Top Secret option and we paid only EUR 55 / room / night.
