1st of May in Luxembourg City

Many events took place in the City yesterday: one of the big labour unions held a celebration at Abbaye de Neumunster; an open air arts fair was held in the Grund and various concerts took place in Place d'Armes.

Below 2 short videos of the concert held in Place d'Armes by a band called "La Guinche".

The best small band we've seen perform in the City. Unfortunately, the videos were made with a mobile phone, so the quality is not the best.

1 May, the day of the Lily of the Valley

We noted that in France and Belgium today was the day of the Lily of the Valley ("jour du muguet").

Apparently, people who receive them today will have good luck throughout the year.

Two negative points about the food & drinks at the event:

- we spent 2 minutes convincing the cashier that we do not need a 10 EUR voucher and that we only want to buy 2 sausages for 6 EUR. It was like in one of the Laurel and Hardy moments...
- and when we finally got our sausages, they were not cooked properly, being half raw. We ended by threwing them away. Probably some duck a l'orange would have been better :)
