Pickled cabbage (sauerkraut) with bacon and sausages - recipe (including photos)

  • 800-900 grams of pickled cabbage
  • 350 grams of water
  • 300 grams of bacon
  • 200 grams of sausages
  • 2-3 medium carrots
  • 3 spoons of tomato sauce
  • 3 spoons of olive oil
  • 2 spoons of sugar
  • 2 laurel leaves
  • 2 onions
  • 1 bell pepper
  • paprika
  • pepper
  • thyme

Cut the onions and fry them in the olive oil until yellow.

Add the bacon and the sausages and let them fry for a few minutes.

Add the chopped carrots, the bell pepper, the thyme, the laurel leaves, paprika and pepper. Cook for another 15 minutes.

Add the chopped sauerkraut and the sugar and mix.

Add the water and the tomato juice and mix until well incorporated.

Put it in the oven at 160 degrees Celsius for approximately 1.5 hours (or until the cabbage is cooked) .
