Laugenbrot (German bread rolls- recipe (including photos)

Ingredients:
  • 250 grams of wheat flour
  • 160 milliliters of warm water
  • 15 grams of fresh yeast
  • 2 spoons with sunflower oil
  • 1 teaspoon with sugar
  • 1 teaspoon with salt

Mix the fresh yeast with the sugar, then add the water.
Then add the flour and the salt, incorporating in the process the sunflower oil too.

Let it rest for 30 minutes.

For the boiling you need:
  • 1 liter of water
  • 1 teaspoon with salt
  • 6 teaspoons with baking soda
Make little buns from the dough and put them in the boiling water (prepared as above). Keep them for a few seconds, then remove the buns, make small incisions on top and spread the seeds (grains of sea salt, poppy seeds, caraway seeds, etc)

Put the buns in the oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 30 minutes or until golden/brown.

Enjoy!
