Adzharian khachapuri - recipe (including photos)

Adzharian khachapuri is a Georgian recipe.

  • 500 grams of Adygei cheese (you can find it in the Russian / Balcanic shops)
  • 450-500 grams of flour
  • 200 milliliters of milk
  • 80 grams of butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons with dried yeast
  • 2 spoons with honey
  • 2 spoons with sugar (depending on taste, you can use more or less)

Mix 2 of the eggs with the honey, the milk and the melted butter.

Mix the flour with the dissolved yeast .

Mix the two compositions from above and make a non sticky dough .

Let it rest for 30 minutes.

Divide the dough in 7-9 equal parts.

Preheat the oven at 180 degrees Celsius.

Grate the cheese and mix it with the sugar. Divide the cheese is as many parts as the dough.

With your hands , spread one dough on the table. Add the cheese and fold the dough at the ends of its length, leaving the middle unfolded, like a simple boat (see the photos).

Repeat the operations with all the pieces of dough!

Brush the beaten egg above the dough.

Put these cheese pies in the oven at 180 degrees Celsius for about 30 minutes or until golden brown.
