Hotel review - Double Tree by Hilton, Bratislava, Slovakia

Nice room, good breakfast.

There are some 10 free parking places in front of the hotel and on its street side.

At only 10 000 points per night, it must be one of the best HHonors points redemption options in Europe.

Eating out - Restaurant Radnica, Pezinok, Slovakia

The food was good, but nothing fancy: the usual meat and potatoes. The price was decent.

Hotel review - Chopin Hotel, Bratislava, Slovakia

The room was spacious, modern and clean. The hotel is located outside the city, near the highway and the airport, in a large commercial park.

The breakfast was very good.

There are free parking and free Wi-Fi connection in the room.

Update 2015: the breakfast is poor.

Trip to Pezinok, Slovakia

We were tricked into going there. As a tourist, that happens sometimes.

Since we finished unexpectedly fast with Bratislava, we said to ourselves to try some other town nearby. We found a brochure and Pezinok was highly recommended (described in pictograms as having a fort / castle, old city center and some other interesting sights).

Even the receptionist from the hotel recommended it.

In fact, it's a big nothing, that's what it is. At least the restaurant bill was moderate.

Taking into account that it was part of a former communist country, the preservation of the old town centre, as much as it is, has to be appreciated.

Really small city center, you wouldn't say that it's a capital.

Don't plan more than 2 hours.

On the positive side: could be interesting for a week-end clubbing experience, for the young and restless.
