Strange pricing policy in Auchan Luxembourg

While browsing through this week's promotion brochure from Auchan, we came across this "offer":

Obviously something went wrong in the calculation made by Auchan's sales people: why would somebody pay EUR 17 for a DVD?

No wonder a lot of people prefer to download movies illegally. EUR 17 for a movie which was released half a year ago is outrageous.

This is exactly the same price for 2 tickets at Utopolis, where one can have a much better viewing experince.

Not to mention the much cheaper alternative of renting the DVD in the same Auchan complex for only EUR 5 per 48 hours.

Rating movies on imdb.com

While looking for new movies on www.imdb.com, we realised that there are a lot of films that we have already seen.

However, for some of them we completely disagreed with the average rating they had, so we set up an account and started giving ratings.

It is actually fun to be able to express your opinion about something (this is the reason we set up a 5 star rating system on our blog also).

We are reviewing the movies starting with 2009 going backwards, and so far the ones that received our highest appreciation are:

  • Twilight (2008)

  • Passengers (2008)

  • Bolt (2008)

  • In the Loop (2009)

  • Revolutionary Road (2008)
