Shepherd's pie - recipe (including photos)

  • 500 grams of veal meat
  • 500 grams of tomato juice
  • 400 grams of potatoes
  • 200 grams of mozzarella
  • 10 cloves of garlic
  • 4 carrots
  • 2 spoons of fresh cream
  • 2 onions
  • 1 bell pepper
  • 1 egg
  • few spoons of olive oil
  • thyme
  • pepper
  • salt

Chop the vegetables.

Chop the meat.

In a pan add the olive oil and the onions, the carrots and the bell pepper.
Let them fry for 5-10 minutes.
Add the meat and cover the pot.
Let them cook for 20 minutes at moderate fire.

Add a part from the chopped garlic and let everything cook for another 5 minutes.

Add the tomato juice, the pepper, salt, and the thyme and let it cook for 10 minutes.

Meanwhile boil the potatoes.
Mash them and add the fresh cream and the remaining garlic.
Mix and put aside.

In an oven pot add the meat stew and here and there the mashed potatoes.

Above add the chopped/grated mozzarella and the beaten egg.

Put it in the oven at 170 degrees Celsius for 20-25 minutes or until brown.
