Belgian waffles - recipe with step-by-step photos

While in Brussels, we´ve seen a recipe of Belgian waffles on a TV food channel. This is the recipe with some small changes.

  • 250 grams of semi-complete flour
  • 150 grams of butter
  • 120 grams of brown sugar
  • 50 milliliters of milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon with cocoa powder
  • half of a teaspoon with baking powder 
  • half of a vanilla stick
  • salt

Mix the flour with the brown sugar, the salt and the baking powder.

Add the eggs one by one.

Add the milk and mix.

Add the butter at room temperature little by little.

Finally add the vanilla and mix until well incorporated.

Divide the dough in 2 parts.

In one of them add the cocoa powder and mix.

Heat the waffle machine.

Take one spoon with vanilla dough and one spoon with cocoa dough and put them in one move in the machine like in the photo.
