Although they are to be made before Easter, we´ve made them during the summer and they were excellent all year round.
Ingredients for 30 biscuits:
Beat the butter with the sugar until fluffy.
Add the orange zest and mix.
Add one egg and mix.
In another bowl, mix the baking powder with the juice from the orange.
In the butter composition, incorporate the flour little by little, add the salt and then add the orange juice mixed with the baking powder.
Make a non sticky dough and put it in the fridge for 30 minutes.
Make little balls from the dough just to ease your work afterwards.
Preheat the oven at 180 Celsius degrees.
Spread each ball into a 15 cm strip of dough and then fold it from the middle and then twist it.
Brush the biscuits with the remaining egg.
Put the biscuits on a tray covered with baking paper and keep them in the oven about 15-20 minutes or until golden.
When ready let them cool a bit, then sprinkle some powdered sugar above .
They are excellent in the morning with a coup of coffee or tea.
Enjoy!
