Cherry Sponge Cake - recipe with step-by-step photos

Ingredients for a small cake:
  • 150 grams of flour
  • 100 milliliters of milk
  • 100 grams of sugar
  • 10 - 12 cherries (or apricots, plums, etc)
  • 5 grams of fresh yeast
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 spoon with sunflower oil
  • salt

Mix the fresh yeast with 1 teaspoon with sugar and a few spoons with warm milk. Let it rest for a few minutes in a warm place.

Beat the eggs with the sugar for 7 minutes until they double the volume.

Add the flour and mix.

Add the risen yeast, the sunflower oil, the salt and the rest of the warm milk.

Put the composition in a tray.

Above add the cherries and other fruits you like.

Put it in the oven at 180 Celsius degrees for 30 minutes and then lower the temperature at 140 Celsius degrees and keep the cake inside for another 15-20 minutes or until ready.

It´s very good in the morning with a cup of coffee :) .
