Galatopita - recipe (including photos)

  • 1 liter of milk
  • 100 grams of sugar
  • 100 grams of semolina
  • 50 grams of butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 packets of vanilla sugar
  • zest from 1 lemon
  • cinnamon

Boil the milk with 50 grams of sugar.

 When boiling, add the semolina slowly and mix continuously until well incorporated.

When it thickens put the composition aside.

Beat the eggs with the remaining sugar and vanilla sugar.

Add the eggs and a part from the grated lemon over the milk/semolina composition and mix well.

Add 40 grams of butter and mix well.

Grease a pan with the remaining butter and pour the composition.

Put it in the oven at 160 degrees Celsius for 45-50 minutes.

You can decorate it with the remaining zest and cinnamon.
